Jardin sur Loire

The beds were very comfortable and the setting in a residential, peaceful area was great. The accommodation was spacious and the sloping garden was fairly large, though it lacked upkeep. All necessary kitchen equipment was present, but the pots and pans needed replacement. The pool was quite large and deep (1,5 m), perfect for cooling off on hot days. There were several “living room” corners in the garden shaded by trees. Parking was easy (and free) on the quiet street. The only downside was that air conditioning was only in a small loft room; the rest of the place stayed relatively cool by closing the shutters but could heat up during heatwaves. The parasols were broken and non‑functional, yet the shade of the house allowed us to dine outside in the mornings and evenings.

“Posto molto bello con piscina privata, ma con qualche disfunzionalità...”

The pool was well maintained and the huge garden offered a view of the Loire in the distance—everything was just for us! There was also an internal storage for our e‑bikes. The house door wouldn’t close and the Jacuzzi couldn’t be turned off. Even though the apartment was large, there was no wardrobe. The property couldn’t deliver the promised breakfast from Genius, but I think that was Genius’s fault. Parking the car on the street was necessary, but there was always a spot.

“Bis auf das nicht servierte Frühstück war der Aufenthalt ok.”

The kitchen and large fridge were usable. I had booked breakfast for three days. For those breakfasts, the fridge contained one bottle of orange juice, a piece of butter, some cheese, and a glass of sausage. On the first day there were two small baguettes, a butter cake, and a brown sliced loaf for three days. The cupboard had coffee pods. Everything had to be prepared ourselves. Aside from the greeting, there was no staff in the house for the three days. I can’t understand how someone would rate the breakfast as “great”.

The kitchen equipment, the space in the rooms (large bedroom), and the quality of the bathrooms were good. Cleanliness was average in one room, and some pillows deserved replacement. Workers were present early in the morning without prior notice.

The location was wonderful, right on the Loire. The house was very charming with a perfect host.
