So far, Rumahkita is the BEST OF BEST homestay in Jogja, worth it and great for a solo trip to Jogja. The facilities include a gallon, a cold dispenser, a fridge, a shared kitchen, and a truly clean shared bathroom. My favorite spot is the back terrace, which feels like a cool, cozy home, almost like a grandmother’s house. Plus, Oma watches over the place, so it feels like staying with a grandmother. All the staff are super clean and friendly. 10000/10 GUYSSS!!!

The property’s location is great if you want to stay in a neighborhood that’s more for locals, and there are some great places to eat nearby. The host supplied coffee, tea, drinking water, and sandals, which was excellent, and the overall vibe of the place is cute. The plunge pool was out of operation, the showers could be a bit cleaner, and the air conditioner was very noisy. That said, for the price, the trade‑offs were OK.

The kitchen corner is flawless, with drinking water available, clean rooms, a comfortable ambience, interesting decorations, easy and clear communication, and a friendly host who is a pleasure to talk to. Problems are fixed and questions answered immediately. The fan is making a creaking noise :)

The price is similar to a hostel, which is why I chose this option. The staff are friendly but not always available unless on WhatsApp. Tea, coffee, water, and a kitchen are provided. The bad smell (humidity/old stuff) is a shame because we had to wash all our clothes when leaving. Regarding animals… poor frogs are kept in tiny aquariums (one is obese and can only turn over, not jump), and the same goes for the fish in its small tank…
