Staying on a houseboat was a great experience! The boat sits at the far end of the pier, giving a lovely view over the Schlei, and the rooftop terrace is perfect for unwinding. The interior is nice and the hosts are friendly. Finding a free parking spot isn’t easy, so it’s best to arrive with only small luggage as described.

The houseboat is cozy and has everything you need. Nothing is missing and the view is beautiful. The location is excellent, with the harbor buzzing with life and the city just a short walk away. We noticed the boat had a strong sewage smell, even after it was emptied. We tried flushing all the drains with water, but the odor lingered.

I only contacted the hosts by e‑mail, which turned out to be hassle‑free, and checking in at the houseboat was smooth. Everything inside was very high‑quality. Despite the 40 qm of living space, the layout and comfort were impressive. The kitchen area was well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, and there was a tiny terrace attached to the living area with direct access and a view of the Schlei (the only downside is the fairly long walk from the parking lot, about 250 m). The huge smart TV was something I wasn’t familiar with, which didn’t go well for me. We couldn’t use the rooftop terrace because of the sun, except for photos. My wife (over 70) wouldn’t have been able to climb the ladder anyway. The description should mention the length of the walk to the houseboat and that the tap water isn’t drinkable.

It was a very exciting weekend. One night was too warm, another night had a roaring storm, and the third night slept wonderfully. So the stay on this super nice houseboat never got boring. The storm should not have happened.

Very comfortable and well equipped. The bed was super cozy. The modern kitchen had everything needed. The location was perfect with an unobstructed view of the Schlei and the harbor. On good weather days, the rooftop terrace and the free seating at the stern with furniture were great. The bathroom had a good shower and shower products, a hair dryer was available, two TVs with streaming services, and it’s within walking distance to the city center and other sights. At the harbor café right on the pier you can buy rolls. Parking is scarce; at the harbor you can only park for 3 h or pay a fee. The free parking directly on the pier is usually occupied by boat owners. Access to the boat from the pier has a big gap. There’s no gangway like the other boats, making it hard with a suitcase or restrictions. The pump is very loud. At night everyone is awake when you go to the toilet. 50 € for laundry is debatable, but then only one trash bag and three dishwasher tablets is petty. I missed a bath ladder, because a cool down after the sauna would have been great. The other boats all had a ladder. The explanation that the Schlei isn’t suitable for swimming doesn’t make sense to me, because directly opposite is the Luisenbad. There you can also read the proof of safe water quality.
