The breakfast and the staff’s friendliness were positives. The rooms are so small that two people cannot stand without getting in each other’s way, and even without luggage, you have to put one suitcase on the bed and the other underneath.

After missing the last Shinkansen from Okayama Station to Shin-Yokohama and somehow reaching Kyoto Station via local trains from Shin-Osaka Station, I found this familiar APA Hotel with a large public bath and a breakfast buffet, and it felt like “Buddha in hell.”
