I decided to splurge on this place even though, by UK standards, the price was an absolute steal, and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a beautiful old building only a few hundred meters from the town’s main square, and its small size gives it an intimate feel. The building centers around a very good courtyard restaurant, and I really enjoyed sitting in the gallery in the evening and soaking up the historic atmosphere. Even though the room was a great deal, be prepared that this is the nicest place in town, so the restaurant is priced accordingly—though those prices are still good by UK standards. If you’re on a budget, you can just go out for food nearby.

The room and restaurant were nice, but the bed was very hard and I didn’t get any sleep.

The infrastructure, the restaurant with very good breakfasts, and the bar with the best craft beer were definitely excellent. The wardrobe looked like something from The Conjuring.

The breakfast and cocktail bar were good, but there were no towels and the sink had no hot water.
