We left the hotel about an hour after arrival because we found two spiders, one even inside the room. The area outside the hotel was very dark with poor lighting. The hotel sits in a remote spot, the building looked old and uncomfortable, the corridor to the room was narrow, and there was an unpleasant odor in the room. Finding spiders made us uneasy, and my wife didn’t feel comfortable staying, so we quickly moved to another hotel.

We liked everything especially the beautiful spacious rooms, secure free parking, restaurant with stunning views of Bodensee and the historic building. The location is superb and the village charming. A minor criticism is of the mattresses which in room 222 were horribly soft so not good for one’s back

The location is excellent, but the building is almost impossible to cool on hot days.

Right on the lake, breakfast on the terrace, everything you could wish for, and the service is very friendly. The rooms are spacious, and we had lake views as promised. The price mainly reflects the location. Our bathroom was not up to the price, especially the shower’s condition. There is direct lake access, but the path goes over a broken wall—dangerous if you’re frail. The property is beautiful, but for the cost I expected better upkeep in some areas.
