“The boat & it’s surroundings are idyllic 🥰”
Everything was great, except the mattress in the main room needs replacing, but the owner has been notified.
“Lovely quirky little boat”
Loved the location and was totally different than the normal accommodation we'd book. We had lots of visiting ducks, swans and geese which made you feel you were away from the usual humdrum. The hosts were great and were at hand promptly when we needed them. All in all we had a lovely time, made even better with our stay on Boaty McBoatface; sorry that's what we renamed the boat!. We did have trouble with the WiFi but to be honest it wasn't something we felt the need to pester our hosts with as it was a breath of fresh air to not be able to connect. The upper deck was definitely more of a technology hot-spot if required
“A far better choice than a hotel room”
The location is fantastic—just a short walk to town and the carpark, yet very quiet. The views across the Thames are stunning. The barge is modern, spacious, and has a fun design with two ensuite cabins. We enjoyed a nightcap on the deck after the races. Tip: there’s a cut‑through from the Windsor and Eton Riverside railway carpark to the barge, down the side of The Boatman Pub. Nothing else to note.
“we loved it!”
We loved it! The location was fantastic, the boat was beautifully decorated and well equipped, and check‑in was straightforward. The beds are a bit small for two people, which is understandable.
“Centrally located with great views.”
Self‑check‑in was easy, the location is central, the beds are comfy, and there are plenty of towels. Christmas decorations and lights added a nice touch, and the hosts were reachable. The wood burner was broken and hard to keep lit, which we’d hoped for given the season. Power was a bit spotty at first, but the host quickly helped by running the boat engine to recharge the batteries—though it was noisy and left a diesel smell inside. The shower would suddenly turn scalding hot intermittently. Kitchen facilities weren’t the cleanest; the fridge/freezer smelled, and plates were left wet in the cupboard.
