A charming little hotel, quiet yet perfectly central, with tasty breakfast and an informative owner; ideal if you’re planning a trip to Cordillera Blanca, and it’s the best place I’ve stayed in Caraz and Huaraz.

Pony is an amazing host who greets you with breakfast and chat each morning and is always ready to help with tourism tips or Caraz suggestions, fixing any issues promptly; the location is central, close to the plaza, and surprisingly quiet, making the stay very comfortable and welcoming. Occasionally the shower and Wi‑Fi act up, but Pony is quick to show you the fixes, so I had no problems.

Breakfast was decent, but when we arrived we had to pay a higher rate than confirmed because the property added its own platform commission; the receptionist suggested canceling through Booking, which was impossible since the rate was non‑refundable, an unfair practice. The stay itself was awful: no hot water, and the shower was filthy, with no basic hygiene at all.

The location was spot‑on, the host was very kind and helpful, and she set out breakfast early because I needed to catch an early bus; I have no complaints.
