The property is well appointed, ideally located near the station in Bayerisch Eisenstein. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast and restaurant are great, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Under new management and still ironing out a few things. There’s a local Kurkarte arrangement that I’ve used before; they don’t sign you up for it, don’t deliver it, but you still pay for it. It’s supposed to give you local transport and the like, so I deducted one point.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean, and the spa area was good for the price range, though the room furnishings felt a bit dated.

There were two billiard tables, and the railway museum and border were just a short walk away.
