The place was filthy, smelling like old carpet and smoke, with exposed wires in the hallway ceiling, a clogged bathtub, and a bed that looked like the sheets hadn’t been changed; because my transport was delayed I arrived at midnight and had to stay until dawn.
“Horrible, traumatic, scariest moment of my life”
The place looked like a run‑down hotel that clearly needs renovations; the upstairs hallway resembled a horror movie set, and my room was dirty and gross. While I was in the bar downstairs, a patron brandished mace, pulled out a submachine‑style weapon, and chased me and other guests around the property. The staff and security did nothing but complain that they wanted to go home and hated their jobs. Avoid this place like the plague. Being chased by a gunman while the staff behaved like that is just a regular Saturday night in Winnipeg.
“Not as bad as the previous reviews said”
The bed was extremely comfortable, and the staff at both check‑in and check‑out were very friendly and helpful. However, the doorknob was barely on, there was no security chain for the door, the curtains were old and filthy, and the carpet had definitely seen better days.
The location was good, the place was comfortable and quiet, and the only wish was for more movie channels to choose from, but we’ll stay there again.
They’re currently undergoing important renovations, so the appearance is about to improve.
