The room was roomy and the location was spot‑on! The stay was utterly disappointing, especially given the hotel’s category and price. From the moment we arrived we felt a total lack of care from the staff. With luggage in hand, neither at check‑in nor check‑out did anyone bother to help us open the door while we were clearly struggling with our bags—a simple gesture that would have mattered. Once in the room, we discovered that reaching it required crossing an inner courtyard, an awkward and hard‑to‑understand solution, especially in bad weather, since one has to go outside to enter or exit the room. The biggest issue was the elevator. On the day we arrived, after we had gone up to the room, the elevator stopped working and stayed out of service for the entire stay. We had to use the stairs the whole time, and at check‑out we were forced to carry our luggage down ourselves, with no help. Breakfast was a major let‑down. The selection was very limited, and we could barely order anything beyond coffee and tea. The buffet offered little choice, and the yogurts had a very short expiry, only three or four days left. The bread was pre‑cut and had to be inserted into a visibly dirty Smeg toaster. Table service was also severely lacking. During breakfast I asked a waiter for a spoon, fork, and knife. He pretended not to understand and started clearing my plate, even though I hadn’t finished. After he touched my plate, I naturally preferred to have it taken away.

The location was good, but the rooms were very cramped.

The staff went above and beyond to keep me comfortable, yet a rotten smell greeted me every time I entered the room.

The location is excellent and the street is very quiet; the historic building has been tastefully renovated, but the rooms are truly tiny, as is common in Paris.
