The host’s welcome was friendly, and the place was close to Amsterdam, Haarlem and The Hague by train from Zandvoort, with quietness and a short walk to the beach. The weather wasn’t what we expected, so we couldn’t enjoy the shore.

The location was fantastic, the accommodation was excellent and comfortable enough for self‑catering when needed, and the host was lovely and helpful with everything.

The property was very clean, lovingly arranged, and overall almost brand‑new. For two nights it was exactly what we wanted: central, so we could walk to the beach and the city center. The small kitchen was well equipped and everything was cozy and thoughtfully set up. We appreciated that we could book a parking spot through the host, and our small dog was welcome, which was a big plus for us. However, a situation on the first evening really hurt our sense of privacy. Around 21:45 the host entered our designated private courtyard to tell us that the glasses we had placed a tea light in were drinking glasses. The reminder itself was fine, but because we had only spoken with her husband until then and the courtyard was otherwise only visible from the host’s upper floor, we felt it was very uncomfortable and inappropriate for her to come into the private outdoor area so late – especially since I was already sitting there in light nightwear on that warm summer evening. Since we wanted to use the outdoor space for sun, relaxation, and as a couple, this lack of privacy in a supposedly private courtyard was unacceptable for us.

The location was excellent and the landlord was very friendly. Everything needed was available, and it was great that the room had air conditioning.
