“High quality hotel, but restaurant service needs sorting”
The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size; the shower was also a good size and the buffet breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Dinner at the restaurant was not great: the Caesar salad, billed as including smoked salmon, croutons and parmesan cheese, contained none of those items and consisted only of sliced chicken, lettuce, a few small tomatoes and a small pool of mayonnaise on the side. When I protested, the waiter said the ingredients were not available and that they should have told me when I placed the order. After I made a fuss, they brought complimentary fruit and eventually decided not to charge for the dish, but it was completely unprofessional, especially for a place of this standing and at these high prices in Indonesia. A 21 percent surcharge on restaurant meals is pretty steep too.
I walked into my hotel room and was surprised to find a birthday cake waiting for me - what a lovely touch! The staff clearly put some thought into making my stay special. It was a nice surprise, and I appreciated the effort.
The location of this hotel is really convenient, and the staff were fantastic - super friendly and helpful. That being said, the facilities feel a bit dated compared to other hotels in the same price range. The breakfast was a letdown - I had stale bread three days in a row, and the omelettes were cold and made in bulk. For the price, I expected a lot more, especially when you compare it to other hotels in the area.
Limit choice of food from the restaurant menu, most item they say sold out even it has been requested for more 2 days in row
This hotel's gym equipment is pretty outdated, but at least they've got a gym. However, the location isn't ideal - it's right at a road roundabout, and the food menu isn't impressive, so I ended up walking across the road to the mall, which isn't safe. To be honest, it feels like they're still refurbishing, and for the price, I didn't feel like it was worth it. If you're considering staying here, you might want to check out the Hotel Grand Zuri next door instead.
