“Food can be replaced. Guest experience cannot. :(”
The front desk staff tried to help, but the overall stay was far below expectations. I arrived in the evening and immediately detected a strong, unpleasant odor in my room, like unwashed feet and poor hygiene. I opened the window, requested an air freshener, and stepped out hoping the smell would dissipate, but it did not. Returning later that night, exhausted, the odor remained unbearable and made it impossible to sleep. I went back to reception, where a kind and helpful staff member did his best to assist me. We checked several alternative rooms, only to discover that most of them had the same issue. After a long search, I finally found an acceptable room and had to move in the middle of the night. The new room lacked some basic amenities, and the air conditioning was hard to regulate, offering no comfortable balance between too cold and too hot. I would suggest providing a thin blanket. Breakfast was another disappointment: I asked for three slices of cheese and was told I was only entitled to two. Having traveled extensively, even to places with food shortages, I found this policy hard to understand. Refusing a guest an extra slice of cheese while perfectly good food is thrown away at the end of breakfast is not only disappointing but also wasteful. It left a poor impression and felt completely out of place in a hospitality setting. Food can be replaced. Guest experience cannot.
