I stayed at a nice hotel, but unfortunately they no longer serve breakfast. Because it was hot, I was given a room on the shaded side with a fan. Nobody was seen in the building. The only downside was the lack of breakfast.

The check‑in was straightforward and the staff were friendly. The rooms were very clean. The elevator was broken, which made it tough for individual athletes after exhausting days at the Special Olympics.

The hotel is centrally located in Saarbrücken, within walking distance of the pedestrian zone and city centre, and there are paid parking spots nearby. Due to the heat, I received a free room with a balcony. The building is a bit old, but everything is clean and in order. At first the key for the front door didn’t work properly, but the kind staff fixed it right away.
