Breakfast is excellent. The pool area is very good too, even though there’s only one large heated pool. The drinks and snacks at the bar are great prices. The mattress is very uncomfortable, really. And I’m not the type to complain about mattresses.

The room was huge and quiet, the bathtub was nice and the shower worked great, and there were plenty of pools to choose from. Breakfast, however, left something to be desired – the egg didn’t look or taste like a real one and the dining area was tiny and got noisy with all the guests. Still, considering what Penedo has to offer, the hotel feels like a solid pick overall.

Just a short walk from downtown, yet the property feels like a green retreat with a lake full of fish and plenty of birds. I spent my days unwinding in the peaceful surroundings, and the staff were always polite and ready to help. The breakfast was truly extraordinary.
