“Good hotel but disappointing regarding a deposit.”
The location was far from the centre, but it was right next to the subway station. They charged a deposit of 500 yuan, which I had never been charged for before when arriving at a hotel. I asked about the deposit when leaving and they said it would be refunded when the room was checked. I asked them to check it, but they said the staff were in a meeting. I insisted it be checked before I left. Reception staff completed a transaction on a credit‑card machine (I was not asked to sign) and said the deposit was being refunded to my card. This was on the 29th of September and the money is still not in my account.
