The only good thing was the location. We booked rooms that looked fine, but they gave us different ones. The cleaning was inadequate, the smell was bad, it was noisy, and the pillows were very uncomfortable.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years. Recent reviews point out the current dilapidated state of the facilities, and they’re right. You can find modern, clean, well‑appointed hotels in the same area, even on the same block, for a comparable price. These reviewers are comfort‑seeking travelers, and no amount of clean towels will fill the emptiness in their souls. The charm of this place is that it hasn’t changed in two decades; it is a lost part of Phnom Penh from a period of rapidly fading Cambodian history. There will be no museum for Okay Guesthouse and its ilk. This is the last chance to see it, stained towels and all. I’m only sad that the property has little time left before it is torn down or renovated beyond recognition.

It was full of cockroaches! They were in my bed living rent‑free! This place is disgusting! 😭

Don’t go there! No shower head, bathroom clogged, smells like cigarette, etc.
