The location and vibe were solid, and the staff were very helpful. The swimming pool, however, wasn’t kept in good condition.

The pool is very cool and large; we didn’t spend much time there and I’m not sure how often it’s cleaned, unlike the beach. The sea is a 10‑minute walk away, and Nilaveli’s beach is beautiful with plenty of diving opportunities. We received a room upgrade because all standard double rooms were booked; the family room we got had a comfy sofa and two beds, was spacious and cozy. The staff were very friendly and catered well to our needs, both at breakfast and with the Wi‑Fi. I felt the toilet bowl downstairs was leaking, the bathroom had a slightly unpleasant odor, the air‑conditioning was a bit loud, and we had some language misunderstandings with the staff.

The place would benefit from a refresh because it has lost some of the splendor seen in the photos, yet it remains highly regarded by locals and the staff are very attentive.

The location is spot‑on, the place stays clean, and the price is reasonable, but the staff were completely disorganised; for the first few days there were no towels, and they never redecorated the room.
