The hostel felt like a home away from home – super comfy rooms, a relaxed vibe and staff who actually cared. Lenin was on call all day, helped me with everything and even hooked me up with a surf instructor who became a buddy. I was the only guest, which was weird but worked out perfectly, and I’m already missing the cafecito and Santa Teresa.

The house was comfortable and had everything I needed for a pleasant stay, and the communication from the start was spot‑on. Chelsea checked in on me regularly, while Agus gave me a warm welcome and walked me through how everything worked, so I felt at ease right away. Hanging out with Juanchi, Sol and Agus made the atmosphere really enjoyable, though a few maintenance and cleaning tweaks would have made it flawless. Overall it was a solid experience and I’m grateful for the hospitality.

I spent over a week at Cafecito and ended up making friends as well as finding a cozy place to crash. The intimate setting is perfect for solo travelers, and the surf lessons are reasonably priced and easy to book without hunting around the town. Chelsea was hands‑down the friendliest host I’ve met—she treated me like a mate and even extended my stay when I got injured. Nothing really bothered me; even when it gets busy in high season the staff do their best to keep everyone happy.

This hostel gave me one of the most home‑y feels I’ve ever had—clean rooms, AC in the room, and owners who are genuinely social. Chelsea treated us like old friends, constantly inviting us to local events and setting up hostel activities that kept things lively. The place attracts a great crowd and the price for the room and board rentals/lessons is solid, so I’ll definitely be back. I only wish I could have stayed longer, even though I already extended my stay a couple of days.

My time at El Cafecito was the best part of a long trip—Chelsea and Lenin welcomed us with a BBQ on the first night and kept the social vibe relaxed and fun. I spent a lot of evenings chatting and surfing with other guests, renting boards and even trying out the surfskate. After months on the road, the comfy beds, good AC, clean kitchen and overall homey feel felt like a real treat. Nothing to complain about at all.
