“Gradilišta svuda oko vas i trošna kuća”
The pictures of the house and surroundings were probably taken many years ago, because it doesn’t look like that now. You park next to someone’s house that’s under construction and piled up next to the yard where you sit, but no one was there, so nobody was bothered. The house is quite old and looks like it hasn’t been cleaned recently. The boards on the terrace are mostly rotten, so you have to watch where you step, and you’ll have to split the firewood yourself. But if you ignore all that and aren’t too demanding, it can be acceptable, as it was for us at first. The main complaint is the construction sites around the house, the huge noise from excavators, chainsaws, jackhammers and a crew of craftsmen from 7:00 to 19:00 every day. After the third day we left because the noise and chaos became unbearable. When I asked for a refund for the remaining four nights, the owner offered to refund two nights minus the booking commission, which ended up not being refunded at all. He also told us that we didn’t observe the basic level of communication because we didn’t complain about the noise and just left, while he could have tried to negotiate with the builder to stop the work, which of course isn’t realistic to halt ongoing construction. That basic communication should have been observed by pointing out the construction sites before we arrived, or if already there, arranging in advance to inform the neighbor that we would have guests so they could at least respect house rules. There’s no refund for the remaining four nights, nor for the reduced two nights. Even when the work around the house is finished, if you want peace and privacy, this place should be avoided widely because it won’t be there, the house is not over each other.
