“Great location but needs attention”
The room had a lot of character, but the cleanliness left something to be desired.

The staff were friendly and the quirky décor matched the photos, and parking was easy. The bathroom, however, wasn’t cleaned properly—hair in the shower, for instance. It was also quite cold; they only turned on the heating after I asked, and it was still chilly the next morning.

We spent one night at Banoge House and it was wonderful. John was a real character and welcomed us instantly. We were taken straight to the kitchen for tea and a chat, which was a lovely start. The house is beautiful, full of history and character, and feels much more relaxed and genuine than a hotel, more like staying in someone’s home. John cooked a brilliant fry‑up in the morning. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Thanks John for the warm welcome, the conversation, and the breakfast. Hope to stay again soon.

I liked everything about it. John the host was brilliant and did so much for us. A lovely, quiet, relaxing place with stunning big gardens – I will definitely go back. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

The gardens. The bed linens were not clean, the bed was so soft like a sponge it was impossible to sleep in it, and there was a cover on the mattress topper with brown stains and a blood stain. We couldn’t sleep in that bed and we had booked the last room, so I brought a sleeping bag from my car and slept on the floor. The room was very small, no chairs, no television, no kettle. There was one bath towel and one hand towel, both old and shabby.
