I stayed here for six days under two separate bookings: one night and then five nights. The overall experience was disappointing. The room was extremely basic and I wasn’t told beforehand that it had no window. It felt like living in a semi‑basement, partly inside a restaurant. There was a wide bed, a chair and a bench, but no proper table and not even a glass for drinking water. The door didn’t close properly and there was a visible gap through which light and sound entered the room. I had to use a small suitcase padlock to secure it. Access was also inconvenient. Sometimes I had to wait a long time not only to be let into the property, but also to be let out, even when I needed to leave at an agreed time. On one occasion I waited around ten minutes outside before someone opened the door; a member of the kitchen staff was also waiting outside with me. Since access was through the café/restaurant rather than a normal reception area, this became frustrating. The breakfast was included in my booking, but it was very limited and there was no choice. A fixed plate was served, with a small amount of food and coffee. For someone who is physically active and walks a lot every day, it was simply not enough. It might be suitable for someone looking for a very light breakfast, but I expected something more substantial. Even the coffee was served with a small wooden stick instead of a proper teaspoon and without a saucer. There was no proper facility for guests to prepare their own tea or coffee. Outside breakfast hours, hot drinks had to be purchased from the hostel. As a pensioner, I do not consider it reasonable to have to pay every evening for a basic cup of tea when there is no possibility for guests to prepare their own hot drinks. I also asked whether I could keep a bottle of water in their refrigerator, but was told this was not possible.
