“The best Dragon 🐉 in Ludlow”
Paul, the host, is a great guy who works alone and does everything he can to make guests feel at home, even going out of his way to ensure satisfaction; he offers a continental breakfast but will try to accommodate requests beyond croissants, and his local knowledge is very helpful, especially for longer stays, as he explains history and directions by foot or car. If you have time, walk along the BREAD TRACK to possibly spot kingfishers and an otter, which leads to the back of the castle’s high walls—a beautiful, unmissable stroll. He has fascinating stories about his colourful life. The house is very old, dating back to Georgian times, so expect wanky and creaking floors; the bedroom is more than adequate, with the best bed I’ve slept in aside from my own, featuring a feather duvet. It has a decent fridge and plenty of drink options, including a jug of fresh milk. The whole house is quirky, but its character won’t deter us from staying again.
“Very unusual but a really nice pave to stay/”
Paul went out of his way to get the right breakfast supplies in for me. The place is quirky, unusual and tiny(just one B+B room, I think) Paul is very welcoming though if you wanted to be left alone you might find it a bit much! Bedroom was a little cramped but very comfortable. Nothing
“Great host in a wonderful house!”
Our host was great, from the welcoming cup of tea and a chat to letting us watch “Young Frankenstein“ in the lovely lounge!
“Will be back”
The place is unique, quirky, and interestingly decorated; we felt at home with Paul and enjoyed a great conversation over breakfast, and the location is far enough from the town centre bustle.
“Well worth a Visit”
Host was amazing.great local knowledge & asked what my breakfast preferences were and went out of his way to purchase fruit yoghurt etc. The house was delightfully quirky & the recommendations he made for places to eat were spot on. (This is the first time I have gone away on my own since being widowed) but Paul the host was very reassuring about safety in the town Went to a lovely local pub called the Old Street Tavern on his recommendation. It was fantastic ' great beers etc & the locals suggested other places I should visit in the area. Invited to a Cheese evening.great fun & a chance to meet some lovely people. All profits going to a very worthwhile charity. Would have preferred larger towels in bathroom but maybe I am being picky
