The location is spot‑on, rooms are spacious, staff are friendly, the gym is great, and the hotel sits right on Bilbao’s river, just a short walk from the Guggenheim. I’d stay here again.

The bed was very comfortable and the hotel’s location is great. The bathroom was a problem: the open shower area left the entire floor wet after showering, and towels were left on the floor so we could use the sink; it also felt like a geriatric bathroom because of the orthopedic chair next to the shower for possible use.

“Adorámos a estadia e queremos voltar!”

We had a very positive experience at Barceló Bilbao. The staff were always friendly and attentive, both at reception and in the restaurant where we dined one evening and were well served. The hotel and room were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was an excellent choice for our family, giving us a comfortable and pleasant stay. The only downside was the payment process; for those not used to it, receiving a link to pay outside the Booking platform can feel uneasy and insecure. I sent a message through Booking to clarify, but received no reply until I contacted the hotel chain in Portugal, after which I got a response. This process should be improved and responses to guest messages on the platform should be faster.

“Nice hotel in a good location”

Location. Generally a good quality hotel. We were offered a deal on an upgrade to a suite, which we took. Nice large room, good facilities, but the layout was a bit silly
