“Decepcionante.”
Despite my disappointment, the only thing I could salvage was the location—close to Ferradura beach, the center (Rua das Pedras), and a lagoon where you can see capybaras. The staff were a problem: they didn’t speak Spanish (even though the description said they would), interacted almost nothing, barely greeted, and the whole place felt very unwelcoming. The room was normal size, had a double bed and two single beds, and only bath towels were provided—no beach or pool towels, unlike other inns such as Amancay, where we stayed the week before, a beautiful inn with lots of greenery in the João Fernández area. There was no closet, just a huge coat rack, which made the room look very, very messy when clothes were left on top. Cleaning wasn’t done on the first night; it started from the second night. Breakfast was tiny, there were few guests, and it was obvious that items not used on one day were put out the next day until they ran out. The inn had no restaurant, only breakfast. It had a nice sized pool. It was next to another inn under renovation, so the noise started early. The inn itself was also being renovated, so staying there meant dealing with noise. We chose the inn because of its rating, but it was a real letdown.
