“Good, but not great”

We stayed in room 6, which was a large, spacious room overlooking Main Street with a nice bathroom featuring a huge shower; it was tastefully furnished with Victorian style furniture and spotlessly clean. The location couldn’t be better, being on Main Street. The staff were brisk and efficient rather than friendly. We booked only the room and thought breakfast in the cafe was a little on the expensive side, given that there were much better value places a stone’s throw away. I can’t comment on food quality because we didn’t eat there, but it certainly looked okay.

The staff were very welcoming; we arrived early and they did everything they could to give us our room as quickly as possible, offering us tea in between. They were really nice.

The bedroom was large, the bed was so comfy, and the very large ensuite with a walk‑in shower and roll‑top bath was a delightful surprise. The bedding and towels were high quality, as were the toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, with hot food on a hot plate and sensational coffee. The only downside was that we could only stay one night.

“Hidden gem”

I stayed in the garden suite and it exceeded my expectations: a very big two‑room suite, with the master bedroom being huge, very clean, quiet and tranquil. I only regret not having more time to enjoy this nice suite. I already knew it, but it does not have a parking lot, although I was lucky and had a parking spot right in front of the hotel.
