The place felt so run down, with a cigarette odor despite the smoke‑free sign, mold that made the rooms look frightening, and a pervasive mildew smell; after we complained the desk swapped us to another room and sprayed it with perfume, yet we left right away when my child had asthma attacks. The rooms were completely run down, and the pool had a layer of black slime on it.

The staff was pleasant and helpful, but we booked a handicapped room and none were available when we arrived; the room they gave us was spacious but the bathroom lacked bars next to the toilet and shower.

It was clean and comfortable for a night during RAGBRAI, breakfast was more than adequate and included, and they opened it at 04:30 to help early‑departure riders; the beds were great. It was a bit dated but still clean and comfortable.
