“Location location and location. This hotel didn't have that.”
I appreciated the eggs on the menu and the coffee or tea options, and the balcony view was nice. The hotel sits 15 to 20 minutes uphill from the village, with no shuttle service—taxis are pricey. The rooms are on two floors, and the ceiling on the upper floor is low, so you hit your head. The bathroom has no door, so privacy is lacking. Breakfast omitted fresh fruits like peaches, pears, and oranges, and there was no bacon, smoked salmon, or avocados. The reception closed during lunch and after 10 pm, and the steam sauna is only available if you notify them an hour in advance. The main issue for us was the location.

The quiet setting, comfortable rooms with balconies, the superb breakfast, and the highly knowledgeable and friendly owners and staff made for a great stay. Nothing negative. The location is very peaceful and the Matterhorn view is fantastic, though the last 300 meters climb steeply—manageable at a relaxed pace.
