The breakfast is absolutely recommended. The noise level is high, and the old window system is impractical.
“Schönes, denkmalgeschütztes Hotel mit super nettem Personal”
The historic house is very beautiful, with a large attached garden and a spacious terrace. The staff is very attentive and super friendly. The rooms are very clean, and breakfast is genuinely good. The shower is a bit narrow, but because of the heritage protection there aren’t many options to make the bathroom a bit more modern.
The service from arrival to departure is exceptionally friendly! The breakfast buffet is very good and lovingly arranged, leaving no desire unfulfilled—coffee, fresh waffles, eggs cooked to order. You’re warmly served and pampered. The breakfast room has a lot of charm, bright, with fresh flowers and tea lights on every table. Very inviting, and on nice weather you can enjoy coffee on the terrace overlooking the greenery. A 4‑star hotel could take a cue from this. There’s really nothing to note.
“Tolles altes Haus mit Charme und sehr freundlichem Personal.”
The old house is charming and located right next to an old garden. Breakfast was very good with everything you’d expect. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and coffee and beer were free. The room furnishings and bathroom are dated and could use renovation.
“Empfehlenswert, insbesondere wegen der Lage unmittelbar am Schloss Gottorf.”
We weren’t housed directly in the hotel; instead, we received an apartment across the street with a balcony view of the fjord. The apartment was spacious and very clean, and we felt comfortable. We deliberately did not book breakfast, so no rating there. Parking was right at the building, and the key‑in‑box check‑in at the front door worked perfectly. We have nothing to complain about and will gladly return.
