The room offered stunning views and I was upgraded automatically, which was fantastic.

The hotel is well placed near the famous Belém Tower, though that puts it a bit far from the city centre. The staff were friendly, the room spacious, and the bedding excellent; breakfast was decent. On the downside, the room feels dated, with issues like a non‑blackout curtain and a problematic air‑conditioning unit that don’t meet five‑star standards. The near‑constant train noise is a bit annoying. The rooftop pool is absurdly tiny, and the indoor pool only allows children under 16 between 10 am and 12 pm—something I wish I’d known earlier, otherwise I wouldn’t have come. On rainy days we were stuck on the roof freezing! For the price I paid, I expected full access to all facilities.

Everything was great, especially the spot right beside the river. The smart‑home switches in the room were uncomfortable and complicated to use.
