“Not worth staying, inconsiderate owner, plenty other good options in town for similar price.”

I’ve been hopping around South America for three months, staying in more than 50 places, so I’m used to harsh reviews, yet this one really tested my patience. I reached out to the owner about a different property because we had a large vehicle and parking was a concern; she said it wasn’t available but suggested this one instead. I specifically asked about the parking height and the negative comments from before, and she assured me everything had been fixed. 1. Our car didn’t fit in the parking spot and our solar panels got scratched; instead of apologising, she seemed more worried about the payment on arrival. We finally parked in the adjoining garage, which was full of dog waste everywhere. 2. That explains the <8 score: mosquitoes inside, a poorly lit old building, and obvious signs of neglect. The bathroom backdoor had metal nails instead of hooks, giving it the feel of a slum shack. 3. “Breakfast included” is misleading; it’s just a small coffee in a disposable cup and a croissant from a bakery outside that opens at 9 am. 4. I was charged 10 % extra for card payment (she had sent a message in Booking, but I missed it because I was only using WhatsApp/Booking email) and she added 7 % on top of the official Guarani‑to‑USD rate. I didn’t challenge her then because I felt it wasn’t worth arguing with someone who clearly cares more about profit than respect.

The rooms were comfortable, clean, and had the exact layout we needed for our family, so we really enjoyed our stay.

The place was very clean and had a great location, but I didn’t like that they changed my habits without prior notice. It was also unpleasant that there were masons working upstairs from 7 am; the noise from the machines was very annoying and kept me from sleeping. Moreover, the owner only responded when she sent a message, but when I sent her a query she ignored it and didn’t reply.
