“If refusing a tiny cake is justified as “hotel policy,” then one has to ask: is providing visibly ru”
We were let down badly, especially since we were returning guests hoping to celebrate our engagement. We had arranged for a tiny engagement cake (less than 0.5 kg) to be delivered; it arrived a bit early, but the hotel outright refused to accept it. I understand policies, but the situation could have been handled with far more understanding for such a small cake on a special occasion. When we entered the room, the bathroom slippers/sandals weren’t there and were only brought after we were already inside. Basic amenities should be ready before guests arrive. The bathroom itself was filthy, with visible rust and staining around the fixtures, a soap dispenser, and shower handles that were totally dirty. If refusing a tiny cake is justified as “hotel policy,” then one has to ask: is providing visibly dirty, rusted bathroom fixtures also part of the policy? We gave this hotel another chance hoping for a memorable engagement celebration, but poor service, lack of room preparation, and maintenance issues ruined what should have been a very special day.
