We didn’t speak any Chinese and didn’t have WeChat, so the staff’s willingness to arrange taxis and point us toward the sights saved the day. The king‑size bed was massive and super comfy, and they topped it off with complimentary bottled water each morning and a free airport shuttle. The location was also convenient, so I’d definitely recommend staying here.

“Nice hotel of nice couples”

The couple running the place are genuinely funny and warm, always trying to help even though their English is pretty much non‑existent. The hotel sits right near the market and a bunch of other attractions, which made getting around easy. Language was a hiccup, but it didn’t ruin the stay.

The hotel sits right on the riverbank, so you can stroll along the water whenever you like, and the rooms on the upper floor give you a nice river view. It’s in the city centre, making trips to the main sights a breeze, and the staff are enthusiastic and eager to help. The downside is that there are only a few employees, leaving the owner to handle most of the work, which feels a bit exhausting – hoping they hire more help soon.

From the window you can see the upper Mekong River and the iconic Peacock Tower that represents Xishuangbanna. The building shows its age, but it didn’t bother me at all. A female staff member was especially kind and took good care of us throughout the stay.
