The Kings Arms Hotel

I knew no food would be available and that the car park was very small before booking. The room was small, but adequate and clean. It's a busy, popular, and traditional old pub with frequent live music evenings. If you want local flavour and colour this is the place to stay. It's very close to the town centre so convenient for shopping and eating out. There are long stay car parks within a 10 minute walk. The outside steps to the room were metal and rather steep. Quite loud music was playing until about 11.45pm on the Friday I stayed. Small point but it was almost impossible to fill the kettle with water from the tiny basin in the bathroom

Nothing The only plus was the owner agreed immediately to give us a full refund. Very low door Storage room ,door wouldn't shut Not cleaned, spider webs everywhere Carpet not replaced for decades Dresser come off in wife's hand

“Room adequate for one.”

No breakfast was offered, but the spot was perfect for the city. The only downside was that the building work meant there was no parking.
