Former private mansion turned boutique hotel, Good Hotel Antigua Guatemala, sits amid UNESCO‑protected colonial streets. Its minimalist design features open‑space living rooms, an on‑site bar, and private parking. Rooms offer private patios, open‑air showers, and signature GOOD‑mattress. The inner garden surrounds all rooms, while a 24‑hour front desk, open‑air patio, and communal living room serve locally sourced cuisine and drinks.

The service was wonderful, especially Maria who offered personal restaurant recommendations. The room was very clean and fully equipped—air fryer, pots, pans, everything needed. The view was amazing, and the jacuzzi overlooking the scenery gave us a sense of privacy and quiet despite the hotel’s small size. The only downside was that we needed a car (we arrived with one) or a willingness to walk, as the hotel is not very walkable.

The hotel’s partnership with the Guatemala children’s foundation is commendable, and the nearby Saúl restaurant offers a varied menu. The Saúl market area has chairs close to the water fountains. However, while appreciating the hotel’s social mission, the Patio room rates are very high. Those rooms are dark, hot even with the fan, and have only one window facing the corridor where other guests pass—privacy requires the curtain to be closed. Additionally, Patio rooms near the reception echo every conversation happening there.
