“Eng, vies en vreselijk”
The staff were already drinking vodka behind the front desk when we arrived, barely acknowledged us and smoked constantly. The rooms looked nice in the photos but in reality were a nightmare, with mould, bugs and a broken toilet seat, and the whole place smelled filthy. Some creepy guests even tried to drag us to their room. We had booked three nights but fled first thing in the morning.

The view of Lake Toba was fantastic, and I liked the location. Unfortunately, the room was a disaster - it smelled like mold, there were tiny creatures everywhere, and the bedding and towels were dirty and stained. The whole place felt unloved and uncomfortable, and the smell was really unpleasant.
The view from my room was amazing, and I thought it was a great value for the price. However, the room would randomly black out every 10 minutes, which was pretty frustrating - I'd have to switch on the AC again to get the lights back on. Despite that quirk, I still had a good experience overall.
I enjoyed staying at this hotel, booked a deluxe double facing the lake and green hills. I will definitely come back.
