The room and bathroom were large, the restaurant was on site, and the terrace offered a sea view with covered sun loungers. The only downside was the cold shower.

The room was spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the fan above the bed was great for a good night’s sleep. The beachside location was perfect, and as a solo female, the family made sure I felt safe by providing trusted tuk‑tuk drivers. The restaurant faced the sea, and it was great to watch fishermen haul their nets every morning. Other guests were staying for about three months, and they met for lunch, played cards, and that alone made for a good stay. I liked that I could cancel anytime with no charge, which is handy if plans change. The only issue for me was that the hotel was on a beautiful rustic lane, but at night it was dark with no lights, so I couldn’t go out after dark. Also, there was no hot water, which wasn’t mentioned, but I got on with it as part of the overall travel experience.
