The hotel wasn’t too far to walk to town, but we stopped at Savoy 2 and then went to the Savoy parked, only to be told we were at the wrong hotel. A text or email from the hotel would have prevented the mix‑up. Savoy 2 was still a bit of a work in progress, with no sign out front, a non‑working lift, and the reception needed redecorating, yet the room itself had been recently redecorated. The bathroom sink had no hand wash. It could be a really nice hotel with a bit of work.

We were very close to the sea front and the local town centre, but the bed was lumpy and the step into the bathroom was low and hard to see, causing my husband to trip.
