A perfect nature getaway, positioned at the edge of the village and the start of the wilderness. It wasn’t well equipped for the heat in high summer, but we still enjoyed the surrounding nature a lot.

When we arrived, the cab dropped us off at the end of the road and we walked the rest of the way through a forest path. As soon as the farmhouse came into view, all worries vanished. The property is truly beautiful, with fruit trees, flowers, and birds treating us like guests—well, we are guests. We were lucky with the rain and spent a good part of the afternoon in the basement on rocking chairs with tea, just listening to the rain outside. No phone, no plans, just the sound of rain on the trees. Once it cleared, we walked the forest road and spotted a small owl nearby, completely unfazed. The caretaker told us to be back before dusk because of the animals, and they made it clear they weren’t being dramatic. The surrounding wilderness is part of the charm. The caretaker showed us around, cooked dinner without fuss, and offered breakfast the next morning, which we declined because we were eating on the way to the pickup, but the offer alone said a lot. The return cab arrived right outside the farmhouse door, and after walking in through the forest, that felt like a small luxury. Overall, the experience was great and the stay comfortable. One night wasn’t enough; we had to leave the next afternoon for the bus and left wishing we could stay an extra day. If you’re going, plan more time than you think you need. The only improvement I’d suggest is a signboard—there are no markers on the farmhouse or along the road, which made the first‑time navigation through the forest a little uncertain. Once you find it, it’s lovely, so a small sign or two would make it perfect.

The host was warm and caring, the caretakers were efficient, the spot was right next to Jim Corbett National Park, and the whole building’s architecture impressed me. Everything was perfect.
