The room, the team, and the atmosphere were great. The unheated lounge was a drawback.

In the middle of nature, a beautiful location set up by Veronica and Freddie. Freddie is a fantastic bird lover and attracts spotters from all over the world. He created a special hummingbird paradise with food and a place for them to bathe. Veronica is the best chef! Unexpectedly, we got to eat with a delicious little chicken and even real espresso. The location is in a house above a tent. With an electric heater, it stays pleasantly warm at night. The next day we had an exciting morning with André. We waited at an adjacent strawberry field in the forest at 4:30 am for a Quetzal. He had a magnifying device, so we saw the male fly out of the nest and the female take over. Beautiful photos. Everything was fantastic and the stay was super guest-friendly.

High up in the mountains, the view is just stunning. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and the meals—made fresh right next to the dining room—were delicious. The glamping cabins were incredibly comfortable and spotless. Honestly, nothing to complain about; this place is a unique mountain lodge.

All the meals at S Natura Birding and Photography were top‑notch—among the best we had in Costa Rica during our three‑month stay. Food was fresh, homemade, healthy, and tasty, and the staff were always friendly. Freddie, the bird guide and photographer, was incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole experience memorable. The only downside? It got unexpectedly cold, like Siberia, so bring extra layers if you go again.
