“Would recommend a stay here as a stopover it’s great”
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It could use a bit of TLC; it’s tired.

On the positive side the pub is well located on the A40 and is easy to find. There was no noise from the road inside the room. The atmosphere inside the pub was convivial. I am sorry to have to report this but I felt the cleanliness of the room (Fern), particuarly the shower was poor. The light switch to the bathroom was on a grimy piece of string (see photo) which I did not want to touch. There was mould around the bottom of the shower both inside and outside. It was really quite grim (see photos). There were cobwebs within the lightshade (main light) in the room. The bed was fairly clean and comfortable - thankfully. The next day, I elected to have continental breakfast as I didn't want a cooked breakfast but there was no fruit as I was told it had not arrived. I was not asked if I wanted white or brown bread so I got white. The yoghurts were both full of sugar. I am sure if you wanted a hearty cooked breakfast that would have been great but there was no other healthy option - what about offering porridge or granola to your guests? I was not asked how my stay at the hotel was, hence this review. I do get that running such an establishment is hard work but I really think the bathroom shower needs addressing at the very least - that is basic maintenance and cleanliness. Also, please think about guests who might want healthy alternatives for breakfast. This was not acceptable value for a stay away at £105 per night inc breakfast

The location was beautiful, green, and close to nature. The lighting was poor, and the steps in the pub were not suitable for someone with disabilities, making it difficult to navigate at night.

Ten out of ten. The staff were excellent, and the Irish landlord who served breakfast made a great start to our holiday in Ireland; the breakfast itself was hot, plentiful, and tasty. The pub’s atmosphere felt welcoming even at breakfast time, and it would probably be even better in the evening. The only downside was that the chalet‑style building felt a bit close to the other units, but that didn’t bother us since we were only there for one night.

Three out of ten. Ants were crawling in the bedroom, and when we mentioned it the next morning the staff just shrugged off the complaint.
