The location—access to the temple and the lakeside position—makes this place special, but the staff were hit or miss; the junior staff were warm and tried hard, yet the stay didn’t meet our expectations.

The hotel sits right on the way to Abu Simbel Temple, and the rooms are spacious with a view of the lake. However, the value for money is very poor, the breakfast is awful with a tiny selection and almost no hot dishes; some toast was even moldy and we had to point it out to the waiter. The airport transfer is offered but costs 25 USD for the 4 km, which is outrageous. I would not recommend this place; flying to Abu Simbel the same day is the better option.

The hotel is beautiful and located only 300–400 m from the entrance to the site, with a clean room, very comfortable bed, and a lovely view of Lake Nasser. There are two nice swimming pools, including a splendid infinity pool overlooking the lake, and the staff are very attentive. If you ask for the golf‑cart shuttle to the site entrance, they will pick you up. It’s the best place to relax during a stay in Egypt, except that the common areas, restaurant, and bar are not air‑conditioned. We had the whole hotel to ourselves, which perhaps explains that.
