“Comfortable apartment - Much better parking information needs to be provided”
The room and bathroom were well decorated, spacious and comfortable. A couple of water bottles and soft drinks were in the fridge, there was a plate of sweets, coffee facilities, and toiletries. The room is a short walk from the Diocletian Palace (not inside it, as the website suggests). Parking was highly stressful and took over an hour, even though I asked the host the day before where we could park. He said the instructions were on his website, but those proved completely unhelpful. The host needs to give much clearer instructions for tourists, especially those from another country visiting Split for the first time. Using the website’s very dark and oversimplified map, plus the written comments, it took us over an hour to find a place to park. The host should mention that the Parking Split app does not work on phones from another country and supply a Google Maps pin so drivers can locate the various car parks he lists, as it’s impossible to find them with what’s currently on the website. He also needs to note that many car park machines are only in Croatian. Anyone looking to park nearby might try where we eventually found – https://maps.app.goo.gl/sRkmEZuv73ZDj81s6 – Address: Zagrebačka ul., 21000, Split, Croatia. The website claims the property is in the Diocletian Palace and not a short walk from it, so we were a bit surprised to discover we did have a short walk to enter the palace. The host says the room has a view, but the window was very small, high up, with wire mesh covering it, so I don’t understand why he said it was good. There’s actually a much better view from a window after climbing four flights of steps up to the room. The shower cubicle leaks, and it seems the water from there has caused the bathroom door to swell and not close properly.
