“Great Service in a Very Good Hotel”
We landed in a spacious room with a comfy bed and a bathroom; the room had plenty of storage, many charging points, and a sitting area. Breakfast offered both hot and cold options, and eggs could be cooked on demand. Most tables overlooked Stanley Harbour. The front desk handled all our car‑hire questions, the delay to our return flight, and the airport shuttle flawlessly. Extending our stay was a breeze, and they even arranged a car for us when a previously “confirmed” hire fell through. The hotel’s restaurant served evening meals with a solid selection of local dishes, wines, and beer. The bar was a popular spot for socializing, and there was also a cinema showing mainstream films. However, we were surprised to be charged for the first night on our booking when our flight couldn’t land, a problem well known on the small island. Some breakfast items that had been cooked and kept in bain‑maries were cold. The bathroom lacked a shaver outlet, and the bedside lamps didn’t work, though there were small reading lamps. One bartender regularly poured short‑measure pints of beer and found it amusing when asked to top them up.
