The house was breathtaking, set in a narrow valley with majestic mountains around and a small river flowing through the backyard. It was newly built with a clean interior and the value was insane: a one‑night stay for two people cost 25 €, so each of us paid only 12.5 €. The outdoor grill was fully equipped, and the jacuzzi outside was just 30 lei per person (about 6 €); they heated it for us and we could use it as long as we wanted. Most of us chose this place because we were driving the Transalpina road, but the accommodation was almost as good as the road itself. The entire two‑day trip, everything included, cost us less than 100 €. Whether you’re passing through or looking for a weekend escape to the South of the Carpathians, this is the best value you’ll ever find—hot‑tub, mountains, heavenly roads for the price of about two beers at a typical bar per night. The only downside was that there was just one kitchen for the whole house, but at least it gave us a chance to bond with the neighbors.
