Wonderful staff, a good bed, and it’s close to downtown and the trains, but the shower flow was weak and there was no WiFi.

“街から近い静かな宿”

We arrived at noon and were shown to our room right away; the staff even pointed out the mountain right outside and suggested we hike it, giving us several sightseeing tips. When we got back they brewed a pot of hot tea and brought it over, and we enjoyed it at the chair and large table set in front of the room while taking in the view. It’s about a ten‑minute walk to the town centre, yet the station sits right in front of us, which is extremely handy. The bar attached to the station is a bit lively, but the noise never reached the rooms at ear‑splitting levels. Because the altitude makes evenings chilly, this was the first hotel in Sigiriya where I found a blanket. The room was spacious and clean. I checked out at 3 am for an early Yala tour the next day, which felt wasteful; next time I’d like to stay two nights here. There was no water‑pitcher service, and the property cannot be paid for in US dollars due to a booking‑platform issue.

You get what you pay for, and in this case, it's a pretty basic room. The standard isn't exactly high, but it's not the worst either. For the price, I'd say it's a fair deal. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly. It's not a luxury hotel, but it's a decent option for budget travelers.
