Hampton Inn Fort Walton Beach

The beach access was good, but the water pressure was weak, the beds were old and uncomfortable, the outside door didn’t function properly, and I had to pay for parking even though I was told it was free when I booked; I don’t consider $30 a free perk.

We loved the room’s location by the pool and the walk to the beach, and every morning we enjoyed the breakfast; the hotel’s proximity to the beach, pier, restaurants, putt‑putt, and shops was perfect, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond.

“Unpleasant Stay”

I appreciated the complimentary breakfast and the hotel’s beachfront location, but the room had a musty, stringy odor and a dead roach on the floor; the front desk came and sprayed an air freshener that only masked the smell briefly, and when water ran in the bathroom a sewer or perm odor filled the room shortly after.

The hotel was close to the ocean, the breakfast was good, and the price was reasonable for our September stay; we brought two dogs and the designated dog area was up by the road—nothing terrible, but more options would have been nice.

“We always picked this hotel but not sure if we will next time. This last experience was not good at all.”

The staff was really nice. Our room was very dirty so we felt very uncomfortable. I cried the first day and just tried to enjoy what we could. We have stayed here before and the room the first time was so much nicer. We asked for extra towels and never got them. I used small towels the last day to dry off from my shower before the airport and it was frustrating
