I was forced to cancel my stay because the host first confirmed and then cancelled the reservation; the person was unpleasant, so I removed it from Booking.

Amparo’s communication was excellent and she was incredibly kind and helpful; we managed to check in early since our family room was free, and the location is central yet secluded enough for quiet. The entire property was immaculate, with a free water dispenser downstairs, a water station in the corridor, and complimentary coffee-making facilities. Every room had Christmas decorations on the door, giving it a very homely vibe. Our room had a small balcony with a table, chairs, and a drying rack, plus good air conditioning and a pedestal fan to circulate cool air. I was initially hesitant due to the limited number of reviews, but we’re glad we booked here and will definitely return. Amparo arranged our onward van to Port Barton and can handle all bookings, including tours and scooter rentals. The Wi‑Fi in the room was stable. Overall, Francis Dale Lodge became one of our favorite spots during our five‑week trip in the Philippines, and it felt like we were part of a family. Note that there’s a free 20‑seat shuttle between El Nido and Lio Beach that starts just a 2‑3 minute walk from the lodge; walk to the street near Regae Bar, turn left, then to Gorgonzola Restaurant, and turn left again—the bus pick‑up and drop‑off is at the end of this street on the right side, leaving on the hour. We’ve been traveling the Philippines for a month and are used to towels that can absorb water; I’d like to see better towels, but for the price point Francis Dale Lodge was awesome.

The restaurants and shops are close by. A drying rack for our swimsuits would be helpful, and the water pressure is a bit weak.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room was excellent. However, there was a lot of noise and many roosters nearby that made a lot of noise even in the middle of the night, so I woke up many times during the night.
