“Horrendous”
We arrived around 6:30 pm after a 10‑hour car drive. The valet told us they wouldn’t park our truck because of vehicle restrictions. At check‑in, the front desk woman tried to double‑charge us for the room because of my booking; she also told us the hotel was fully booked, which was unclear why she mentioned it. Our room was 76° on an 85° day; the thermostat didn’t work. I called front desk, maintenance came, adjusted the thermostat, flipped a breaker, and informed us the AC would not work for our stay. He showed us a work order list of 10–15 other rooms with the same issue. Maintenance promised a fan. We went back to the front desk woman, who again said we had to contact someone and reiterated the hotel was fully booked, explaining why she had mentioned it earlier. We waited at the lobby restaurant/bar while I was on hold with the hotel. The restaurant staff said the hotel had had many issues in the last 2–3 weeks with rooms lacking power and now AC. If this was a known problem, why didn’t they check rooms before guest check‑in? They ultimately said the refund was the hotel’s responsibility, but the front desk never mentioned it, only that the situation was out of their hands. I returned to the front desk to tell her we would not stay because no AC was not acceptable for the price we paid, especially after touring the area in the summer heat. We expressed frustration over the lack of preparedness and the front desk’s lack of help. She wouldn’t help us find another hotel or book at a sister Marriott down the street.
